Kathmandu, April 21
A shopkeeper was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Saraswatinagar, Kathmandu metropolitan city-6, in the northeastern part of the capital, on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Nira Acharya (35), a resident of the Badigad rural municipality of the Baglung district in Karnali.
Unidentified persons came to her shop at around 3:30 pm yesterday and stabbed her, leaving her with injuries on her neck and other body parts, according to SP Sitaram Rijal of the Kathmandu District Police Range. She was rushed to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
She was pronounced dead during treatment after a few hours.
The police have launched an investigation to identify the culprits and their motives.
