Nepal’s women’s team made a triumphant start in the ongoing Kho Kho World Cup in India, defeating Bhutan 93-24 in their opening match.
Nepal’s Manmati Dhami was named the player of the match. Led by captain Saraswati Kathayat, the team is set to play its next match against Germany later today.
In Group C, Nepal is grouped with Bhutan, Germany, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Nepal will face Sri Lanka on Wednesday and Bangladesh on Thursday. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Nepal, placed in Group A, lost its opening match to India 42-37. The men’s team is scheduled to play against Peru later today.
