Dharan, January 20
A person was killed in a khukuri attack incident in Dharan sub-metropolitan city-5 of the Sunsari district on Thursday, police confirm.
The next one is critically hurt in the attack.
Kumar Budhathoki (35) was murdered while 25-year-old Manju Khadka Rai is critically injured, according to the District Police Office, Sunsari.
Police say that local Harka Bahadur Rai (39) attacked Budhathoki with a khukuri in the former’s kitchen. Police have held him for the crime.
It has been learned that he also attacked Khadka Rai with the khukuri by entering her house after killing Budhathoki.
The local residents had taken Budhathoki under control after he brutally attacked the duo.
Seriously injured in the khukuri attack, Khadka Rai is receiving treatment at the Bijaypur Hospital in Dharan, while Budhathoki’s body is taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) for postmortem.
