Kathmandu, June 3
The Ministry of Home Affairs informs local administrations have imposed partial or complete lockdowns, officially called prohibitory orders, in 75 of 77 districts of the country.
According to the ministry’s statement, all the districts except Khotang of Province 1 and Manang of Gandaki are on lockdown as of Thursday morning.
The restrictive orders in Taplejung, Saptari and Mustang are partial ones whereas other districts are on complete lockdown.
Even though there is no lockdown in Khotang, local governments, traders and transport entrepreneurs have closed their operation for safety, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Bikas Shrestha.
In Manang, however, the number of total cases is too low (29), hence, there is no need to impose any restriction, informs Assistant Chief District Officer Sharada Chalise.
