Loftie-Eaton and Namibia beat Nepal by 20 runs

Kathmandu, February 27

Namibia beat Nepal by 20 runs during the first game of the Tri-nation T20 Series. This was Nepal’s third consecutive loss at home, as their poor home form continued at the TU Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Winning the toss and batting first, Namibia started their innings cautiously. Nepal sent back opener Michael van Lingen early along with Jean-Pierre Kotze and Jan Frylinck as Namibia were 62 for three. It was looking like Namibia were on a below-par score at the TU Cricket Ground. However, an explosive inning from Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton changed the game.

Loftie-Eaton hit Nepali bowlers to all parts of the ground scoring a record-breaking 33-ball century taking Namibia to 206 in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Nepal got off to a horrible start as Kushal Bhurtel was out first ball. Despite Rohit Paudel, Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee getting starts, they could not make the most of it as Nepal lost the game by 20 runs.
