The recent floods and landslides in Makawanpur have caused a loss of over Rs 1,69 billion.
According to the District Administration Office, the disaster caused loss and damage worth over Rs 1.69 billion.
Among 10 municipalities in the district, Indrasarobar Rural Municipality has suffered the biggest loss in terms of human and physical capital during the disaster, Assistant Chief District Officer Gholak Raj Dhakal informed.
He said 134 houses in 10 municipalities of the district were completely damaged and 183 houses partially damaged. Sixteen suspension bridges, 51 roads and 23,079 ropanis of land in the five municipalities have been damaged.
Dhakal further informed that 58 physical structures, including drinking water and electricity, have been damaged. Six people died in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, two in Manahari Rural Municipality, one in Makawanpurgadhi and one in Bagmati Rural Municipality. As informed, two persons were injured in Thaha Municipality, one each in Bhimphedi, Makawanpurgadhi, Bakaiyan and Bagmati Rural Municipality.
