Kathmandu, April 21
Madheshi parties are holding discussions with foreign diplomatic missions based in Nepal on Thursday to secure international backing for their movement. The discussions come at a time when Madheshi parties are making preparations to make their protest programmes public.
The talks will take place at Hotel Radisson where the United Democratic Madheshi Front will apprise the diplomats of its demands and its movement. Upendra Yadav, president of the Federal Socialist Forum, said there will be discussions on Nepal’s current situation.
The UDMF and the Federal Alliance plan to make their protest programmes public after Wednesday’s meeting with representatives of diplomatic missions. The movement, which Madheshi parties plan to launch next week, will be region and district-centric. They have not yet decided on the nature of the movement.
