Basanta Basnet’s novel Mahabhara has been adapted into a play and is staged in Ilam, a part of the novel’s setting.

The adaptation of Basnet’s popular work has been done by Anwesh Rai Thulung. 

The novel depicts the story of Dukpa, who is intertwined in his triangular conflict of love, politics, and religion. 

The play will run at Nari Bikas Sabha Hall, a local auditorium in Ilam Bazaar, through January 14 at 4:30 pm. There will be an additional show on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
