Biratnagar, February 17
Sadbhavana Party president Rajendra Mahato has said issues surrounding the demarcation of provincial boundaries should be settled within 45 days.
Talking to mediapersons in Biratnagar, Mahato said the much-talked-about political mechanism was not necessary to resolve the issue, and an existing taskforce comprising Morcha and government representatives should settle the issue.
The Madheshi leaders accused Police of illegally detaining protesters. He said that any mechanism formed without providing free medical treatment to those injured in the Madhesh movement would not be acceptable.
“The government should make use of this opportunity as the Morcha has changed the form of its protest. If the government is unable to address the protest within two weeks, the protest will again pick up,” he added.
