Kathmandu, March 30
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari on Friday unveiled his ambitious plan for first 100 days of his office, stressing that he will focus improving the business of national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
The Minister says six new Twin Otter aeroplanes will be purchased in next three months in a bid to expand its coverage in the domestic aviation market.
Of total eight craft that the national flag carrier currently possesses, six are fit for domestic flights; and they will be utilised at the most, according to him.
Adhikari says another priority is improvement in the condition of Nepal’s only international airport, Tribhuvan International Airport.
He claims he will minimise problems related to air traffic control and ensure the operation of flights upto 21 hours every day.
According to the Minister, preparations are also underway to study the possibility of shifting the TIA domestic terminal to Thulichaur of Kavre or any other place.
