Morang, January 28
Sundarharaincha, a town in Morang district of eastern Nepal, turned tense on Monday afternoon after a tipper hit an 11-year-old girl to death.
The District Administration Office has barred locals from carrying out any demonstration in Birat Chok, Sisaughar and Belepur areas since 11:15 am today in a bid to prevent any untoward incident.
The order will be in effect till the next notice, according to Chief District Officer Ramesh Kumar KC. An emergency meeting of the District Security Committee had made the decision.
Earlier in the morning, the vehicle (Na 3 Kha 3355) heading towards Biratnagar, the district headquarters, had killed Laxmi Dhakal at Sisaughari, Sundarharaincha-11.
Infuriated after the accident, the locals came to the streets and torched seven vehicles. The driver of the vehicle which hit the child, however, fled the scene.
