Govt appoints new officials at TRC, CIEDP
The government on Monday appointed five officials each at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons. Ganesh Dutta Bhatta and Yuba Raj Subedi have been appointed chairmen of the TRC and the CIEDP respectively.
Prachanda Raj Pradhan, Govinda Gautam, Mana Dahal and Bishnu Pokharel have been appointed members of the TRC. Likewise, the Cabinet meeting also appointed Bishnu Bhandari, Sunil Ranjan Singh, Ganga Adhikari and Sarita Thapa Magar at the CIEDP.
A recommendation committee had nominated them for the positions on Saturday.
Congress leaders to seek consensus at leadership level
Second-rung leaders of the Nepali Congress have decided to put pressure on top leaders of the party including president Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel to find a consensus on resolving the current dispute over the dates of the next general convention. Bimalendra Nidhi of Deuba side and Prakash Man Singh of Paudel side as well as Krishna Prasad Sitaula had held a meeting on Monday to discuss the dispute but did not make any concrete conclusion. It means the dispute is unlikely to get resolved for the next few days as Paudel is currently in India on a medical trip.
Sitaula says the meeting, however, discussed how the general convention could be made fair.

Roadside huts at Pashupati area to be removed
The Pashupati Area Development Trust has urged vendors who have been selling various items on the roadside in the area to leave, warning the board would demolish the huts that they have been using as shops if the directive was not heeded.
The trust has given the vendors seven days’ time to implement the order.
New law to establish separate security agency for airports
The government is preparing to formulate and implement a new law which will establish a dedicated security agency for the airports across Nepal, sources inform. So far, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal itself has been looking after the security affairs of the airports in coordination with Nepal Police.
However, the new Nepal Civil Aviation Act will allow the government to establish an agency for the security of airports and air navigation services. Aviation expert Hari Bhakta Shrestha hopes that the new agency will be instrumental in improving the security of the sector as the frequent transfer of security officials and personnel under the current provision has been hampering improvement efforts.

NCP’s code prohibits non-honorific ‘you’
The ruling Nepal Communist Party has issued an 11-point code of conduct, which restricts the members from using ‘tan’, a non-honorific pronoun meaning ‘you’ in Nepali, and any other words that show disrespect, even in their family. The code says families of the party members should appropriately divide domestic chores among the family members, in which the party members should take a heavier responsibility.
Likewise, it requires the party members to organise a picnic every month to promote a feeling of togetherness.
