A young woman who went to take a bath at a public water tap has been killed in Palpa. Police said that the body of 19-year-old Padma Sunar of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-1 Khyahaki was found murdered.
Sunar, who had gone to take a bath near her house at 4 pm on Tuesday, did not return until late in the evening. According to the police, various parts of her body were cut with sharp weapons.
District Police Office, Palpa, SP Narendra Chand said that although the reason for the murder is yet to be revealed, the preliminary assumption is that the incident happened when she resisted the attempt of coercion.
She was studying in grade 12 at Sharda Secondary School, according to Ward Chairman Chiranjivi Pokharel.
