Nakkhu Blast: Four arrested, police looking for two more suspects

Kathmandu, March 24

Police have arrested four CPN (Chand) cadres involved in connection with the February blast outside Ncell’s office in Lalitpur that killed one and injured two others.

According to a source those arrested are: Surya Bhujel, Dikendra Rai, Ram Krishna Khatiwada and Shiva Dhimal. Bhujel is the group’s main leader Netra Bikram Chand’s former body guard.

Police officials are on the lookout two other suspects in the case.

“A team each has been deployed by the Special Bureau, Crime Division and District Police Office to look for them. We will soon arrest them,” said an official.

A CCTV footage showed that six people were involved in the IED explosion in Nakkhu. Two of the six men were seen planting the bomb near the office’s reception.

Following the blast, the Chand-led party had owned up to the incident. The party’s senior leader Hemanta Prakash Oli issued a statement taking responsibility for the attack. Oli was arrested on Saturday.
