Citizens above the age of 90 will not be required to present a national identity card to access services.
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak announced the provision, stating that arrangements have been made to ensure accessibility for elderly citizens.
“Children, individuals unable to care for themselves, the disabled, the helpless, and those above 90 years of age will not be denied services even if they do not possess a national identity card,” Minister Lekhak said during a House of Representatives session on Monday.
