Nawalparasi, June 20
Nawalparasi police have concluded that Ashish Chaudhary killed Manisha Gharti Magar, with whom he was said to be in a relationship. Police had taken Chaudhary under control for investigation after Manisha was found dead at her house in Bhutaha, Nawalparasi, in suspicious circumstances, on May 25.
Police arrived at this conclusion after a 21-day-long investigation. They are preparing to file a murder case against Ashish at Nawalparasi district court on Monday. Inspector and investigating officer Prakash Sapkota told Onlinekhabar that police are preparing to file a murder case against Ashish as a probe has found he killed Manisha.
He said they will submit shards of glass and undergarments recovered from the site, among others, to the court as evidence. Police had also looked into call records showing conversation between Manisha and Ashish via mobile phones and mobile messages.
Call records show the last call on Manisha’s mobile phone number was from mobile phone number registered in Ashish’s name, at 8:32:27 pm on May 25.
Police had conducted a polygraph test on Ashish to get the facts. The test is meant to find whether the suspect is lying or telling the truth.
In the test, Ashish had denied role in the killing of Manisha, sister of ace footballer Bimal Gharti Magar. His denial had matched with Ashish’s initial statement on the case.
