Kathmandu, March 4
Nepali Congress Acting President Ramchandra Poudel has registered his candidacy for the position of party President, together with his panel. He made the move at the party office in Sanepa on Friday.
In the 13th general convention of the NC, Shashank Koirala is contesting the race for party general secretary from Team Poudel, while Sita Devi Yadav is vying for the position of treasurer.
Seven leaders, including Sujata Koirala, Ram Sharan Mahat and Padma Narayan Choudhary have seconded Poudel’s candidature for the top Congress position in response to NC General Secretary Prakash Man Singh’s proposal to this effect.
