Kathmandu, January 2
The talks between three major political parties, aimed at ending the political deadlock, ended on an inconclusive note. The talks held at Singhadurbar on Monday were inconclusive as top leaders of the three parties refused to give up their respective stances.
At Monday’s meeting, CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli reiterated that the Prachanda government should withdraw the Constitution Amendment Bill from the Parliament. After the meeting, he told journalists there can be an understanding among parties if the government withdraws the Bill.
Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel said the three parties — including the CPN-Maoist Centre — will continue efforts aimed at reaching a deal. He told journalists: Talks are on, we all are for reaching a deal.
