Saptari, April 1
A driver working for the Nepal Electricity Authority has died as a tipper hit his vehicle at Ranjitpur, Khadak municipality-5 of the Saptari district in southeastern Nepal on Thursday.
Five others have sustained injuries in the accident.
The victim has been identified as Shiva Raj Yadav (26), a resident of Bodebasain municipality-5 of the district, informs DSP Madhav Prasad Kaphle, the spokesperson of the Saptari District Police Office.
His Bolero SUV (Pradesh 2-01-001 Cha 0334) heading eastwards along the highway was hit by the tipper (Na 7 Kha 2658) from the rear side.
Seriously injured in the accident, he died during treatment at a local hospital, according to police.
Meanwhile, the injured are undergoing treatment.
Police are looking into the case by impounding the tipper and arresting its driver.
