Kathmandu, March 22
President Bidya Devi Bhandari left for Dhaka on Monday morning on a two-day state visit at the invitation of her Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammad Abdul Hamid.
The president’s delegation also comprising Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and other high-level diplomats boarded a chartered flight of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation for the trip.
During the trip, officials of Nepal and Bangladesh are preparing to sign four agreements on cross-country trade and transit as well as tourism. Therefore, officials of the relevant ministries have also been included in the team.
During the visit, President Bhandari will attend the celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, in Dhaka, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the occasion, the president will deliver a statement on the theme of “Nepal-Bangladesh Relations and Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary”.
She will return home on Tuesday.
