Kathmandu, March 2
The government of Nepal has formed a team to hold talks with the British government about long-standing demands raised by former Gurkha soldiers.
A cabinet meeting held earlier this week decided to form the committee under the leadership of Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya.
Among major demands raised by the former Gurkha soldiers is equality in pensions.
Meanwhile, the government has appointed Judge Shreekanta Paudel as the chairperson of the Special Court. Likewise, judges Ramesh Kumar Pokharel, Yamuna Bhattarai, Shaligram Koirala, Balabhadra Bastola and Khusi Prasad Tharu have been appointed members of the court.
Likewise, Judge Tek Prasad Dhungana has been appointed the chairperson of the Revenue Tribunal, informs the government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
Similarly, the government has appointed Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Kusum Shakya, Pragya Ghimire, Balananda Sharma, Shekhar Golchha and Prem Prasad Limbu as members of the Institute of Foreign Affairs Development Committee.
