Kathmandu, March 2
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,656 as of Wednesday afternoon.
The ministry said 127 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 4,672 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 123 returned positive. Likewise, 2,202 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 4 tested positive.
Of total tests, 2.63 per cent of the PCR and 0.18 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.84 per cent.
As of today, there are 7,770 active cases across the country. Of them, 190 are hospitalised, 68 in intensive care units and 10 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 321 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were three deaths today.
Of the total cases so far, 957,488 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,941 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, 35,788 people were vaccinated today.
