Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,909 new cases, 4,500 recoveries, 18 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 188,883 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,909 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,338 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,153 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 517,343 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 34,905 cases are active currently. Among them, 28,993 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 380 are in intensive care units and 83 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 152,908 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,070 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 4,500 people have been discharged whereas 18 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 81 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Over 1,200 people are quarantined across the country.
