The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has stated that there are 42,000 metric tons of chemical fertilisers in depots across the country.
On Sunday, the ministry announced the availability of fertilisers and said that 86,246 metric tons of chemical fertilisers were sold and distributed in four months of the current fiscal year and 42,983 metric tons of fertilisers were still available.
According to the spokesperson of the ministry, Prakash Kumar Sanjel, Krishi Samagri Company has 35,499 metric tons and salt trading has 7,534 metric tons of fertiliser.
Krishi Samagri Company has 15,179 metric tons of urea, 18,432 metric tons of DAP and 1,837 metric tons of potash. Similarly, Salt Trading Corporation has 6,584 metric tons of urea, 854 metric tons of DAP and 95 metric tons of potash.
