President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Monday called on all political parties of Nepal and Nepali peoples to protect democracy, national interest and national unity by implementing the Constitution.
In an address to the nation, delivered on the Constitution Day, President Bhandari expressed hope that Nepalis living in the country and abroad will be able to foster peace, prosperity, national unity and harmony in the federal democratic republic of Nepal, which got its Constitution through a Constituent Assembly after a long struggle full of sacrifices.
Bhandari noted that Nepali peoples got the Constitution after waging several movements. She noted that the Charter has guaranteed the rights of all Nepalis by institutionalising federalism, republicanism, secularism, inclusiveness and proportionate representation.
