Kathmandu, November 19
Nepal Telecommunications Authority on Sunday urged mobile phone users across the country not to receive calls dialed from “unknown” numbers.
The Authority says people are found to be using Over the Top (OTP) facility to create such identities including “Unknown”, “No Callers ID”, 0123456, 123456 and 8888888888. The identities are being used to threaten and intimidate people, according to the Authority.
Security agencies have expressed their concerns over such reports and initiatives have been taken to end their operation, the Authority informs, adding people should not accept calls from such numbers to protect themselves.
