Bhairahawa, February 12
Two unidentified people shot and killed a Nepali Congress cadre, Rajesh Sen of Banganga municipality-1, Kapilvastu, at Pipara Chok at 7.30 pm on Thursday, police said. Injured in the shooting, Sen breathed his last in course of treatment at the Butwal-based Lumbini zonal hospital at night.
Two motorcycle-born people came to the Chok and fird at Sen while he was with a group of NC activists, holding the party flag, police said. As it was pitch dark, the shooters escaped the scene without getting noticed.
Police have recovered three used bullets from the incident site and taken a person from Banganga-1 under control for investigation. We are conducting an investigation based on information received from multiple sources, police said.
