Kathmandu, January 23
The Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Student Union members staged an anti-government a protest in Kathmandu on Wednesday. The protest, which started in Maitighar Mandala, ended at New Baneshowor.
The students are demanding that the federal government manage hospitals named after former NC leaders Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala. The union has also demanded that the government apprehended culprits behind the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Pant.
The union demands that the government fulfill its promises made to Dr Govinda KC, who is on a hunger strike for the last 15 days.
