Kathmandu, October 13
The Nepali government has repatriated 254 Nepalis from Israel.
The Nepal Airlines aircraft landed in Kathmandu with those repatriated in the early hours of Friday morning.
Foreign Minister NP Saud, who had travelled to Israel to bring back the Nepalis, told the media that the Israeli government was doing its best to keep the Nepali citizens safe.
“They have shown commitment to keep all foreign citizens safe,” he said.
Minister Saud announced that planes would be dispatched as required for the repatriation of Nepalis from Israel. He stated that the Council of Ministers has approved covering the ticket expenses for those arriving on commercial flights.
“We will arrange charter flights too. The government is prepared and has been in constant contact with the Nepali Embassy in Israel,” he said.
The Hamas attack in Israel on October 7 killed 10 Nepalis and injured four. One person is still missing.
The government has not brought back the body of the deceased as it has not been released by the Israeli government. Their remains will be brought back soon.
