Newly elected mayor, deputy mayor, ward chairpersons and ward members of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.
Total 159 newly elected people’s representatives including Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and Deputy Mayor Hariprabha Khagdi were sworn in by the Chief Returning Officer Dipendra Adhikari at the City Hall in Kathmandu.
The mayor and deputy mayor are scheduled to assume their office today itself.
Likewise, ward chairpersons will also assume their offices at their respective wards.
