Kathmandu, December 30
PM KP Oli has said he is considering bringing in international investigators to bring the murder(s) of Nirmala Pant to justice.
Oli made the promise while speaking at Nepal Communist Party’s standing committee meeting recently, said party leader Yogesh Bhattarai. “The PM is serious about apprehending the culprits. He’s even considering bringing in international investigators to solve this case.”
Bhattarai’s comments come as Nepal Police has failed to arrest the culprit(s) behind the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Pant. The public has criticised the government for its failure and questioned how it plans to maintain law and order in the country.
According to Bhattarai, the standing committee questioned the role and ability of the Home Ministry, after which the PM promised to take the case seriously.
