Bhaktapur, May 8
Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said on Sunday that the KP Oli government will not topple, at least before the passage of the budget for the fiscal year 2073-74.
Rayamajhi, speaking at a face-to-face at Rafat Sanchar Club, said the political equation will not change at this moment because the government has already readied its policies and programmes and that change in government will affect all sectors.
The Nepali Congress is the largest party in the Parliament, so it is natural for it to seek to topple the government, Rayamajhi said. A national unity government is the need of the hour rather than a majority government, he said, stressing the need for the former.
Commenting on the government’s acts of cancelling the President’s planned visit to India and recalling Nepal’s Ambassador to India, Rayamajhi said the trip got cancelled due to natural disasters and Nepal’s internal political situation.
And he attacked those, who call this government a failure. He said the government could not perform because of last year’s quakes, the Madhesh movement and the Indian Blockade.
Rayamajhi, who is also a UCPN-Maoist leader, said the process of unification between his party and Baidhya Maoists is picking up pace. He said different Maoist splinters will come together again.
Rayamajhi said the government is working to end load-shedding.
