OnePlus 10T 5G has been officially released worldwide and is expected to soon arrive in Nepal as well. This is the economical and toned-down version of the company’s flagship OnePlus 10 Pro released at the beginning of the year.
OnePlus 10T carries some features from its flagship sibling. But, its noticeable feature is an upgrade from the Pro version, which is powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset. It also supports the fastest charging system on a smartphone. Since it is a toned-down version of a flagship phone, the camera performance, display, audio and build should be impressive.
Let’s get into the details to know more about the OnePlus 10T.

Design and display
In terms of design, the OnePlus 10T has a similar styling as seen on the OnePlus 10 Pro. The phone has a glass front, and glass back and has opted for a plastic frame instead of the metal frame build. It has a similar metal wrap-around camera panel on the back. The camera panel has merged with the frame of the phone. Strangely, One Plus has decided not to include the alert slider on this model. The back panel on the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. However, there is no mention of the official IP rating on this phone as well.
OnePlus 10T is 8.8mm in thickness and weighs around 204 grams. It is available in moonstone black and jade green colour options.
On the front is a 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED display offering a resolution of 1,080*2,412 pixels and 394 PPI. This is the same screen size as the Pro model but comparatively has a lower resolution panel. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, but since this is not an LTPO 2.0 panel, you cannot get an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz and will instead get 60Hz, 90Hz or 120Hz depending upon the content. The display also gets Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and can achieve a peak brightness of up to 950 nits. Furthermore, the phone has an optical under-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
Cameras
The most hyped thing on Oneplus flagship was its collaboration with the reputed camera company, Hasselblad. However, OnePlus 10T now has a Sony camera sensor instead of the Hasselblad. The phone has a triple camera setup on the back. An 8MP ultrawide sensor accompanies the main 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS with 120-degree FOV and a mere 2MP macro sensor. On the front is a demoted 16MP selfie shooter with an HDR feature.
Well, OnePlus has sacrificed a lot in terms of camera performance. The main camera may do a decent job, but the accompanying sensors on the phone look like they are there just to increase the number. Considering this is a premium offering from the company, OnePlus could definitely have done better than an 8MP ultrawide and almost unusable 2MP macro sensor.
Talking about the video recording option, the main camera can record 4K resolution videos up to 60fps, which seems fine as 8K videos are rarely used and there is hardly any device that can play them. However, the front camera is only capable of recording videos at 1080p resolution only.
Performance and storage
One thing that has got an upgrade on OnePlus 10T is the performance. The phone runs on its own Oxygen OS 12.1 based on Android 12 instead of the colour OS seen on the Pro version. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (4nm) chipset, the most powerful chipset from Qualcomm to date. The graphics on this phone is handled by Adreno 730.
Compared to its predecessor, the new chipset offers:
- 10% higher CPU Performance
- 30% lower CPU Power Usage
- 10% higher GPU Clock Speed
- 30% lower GPU Power Usage
- 4X faster AI speed
This is a massive boost in terms of performance and the users can enjoy high graphical games without the worry of lagging. To further boost the performance, the phone also has a new OnePlus cryo-velocity vapour cooling system. It offers a larger cooling area, advanced materials, and a redesigned heat dissipation channel for improved thermal performance. To boost the gaming experience specifically, OnePlus 10T has a hyper boost gaming engine with features like GPA frame stabiliser and GLC (GPU Load Control).
OnePlus 10T is currently offered in 8GB and 12GB RAM options while the 12GB variant is replaced by 16GB in the US. The internal storage option on the phone includes 128GB and 256GB. The user cannot expand the memory as the phone does not have a memory card slot.
Battery life, connectivity and others
OnePlus 10T has a 4,800mAh battery backup. The phone gets a 150W SUPERVOOC charger that can get the battery fully charged in just 19 minutes. This is also the fastest charger on a smartphone. Furthermore, the phone has 13 temperature sensors, which Oneplus claims are specially customised with a smart charging chip ensuring the charging safety and performance of the phone.
The phone supports dual sims with 5G network connectivity. It also supports Wifi 6 and dual-band wifi for faster and more flexible connections. Similarly, a completely redesigned antenna system, featuring 15 antennas provides a 360 degrees closed-loop system to avoid blind signal angles. Like the Pro version, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone, but the Amp connect feature on the phone is said to reduce the gaming latency by up to 60 per cent when wearing a Bluetooth earphone. The phone also has stereo speakers for the audio.
The price of the OnePlus 10T is INR 49,999 for the base 8/128GB variant. When the phone arrives in Nepal, one can expect a starting price range of Rs 85,000.
