Police have recorded former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba’s statement in connection with her alleged involvement as a witness in an eight-year-old rape case on Tuesday.
Subba’s name had come up in the recently revealed case where a woman has accused Manoj Pandey, the organiser of a beauty pageant of drugging, raping and blackmailing her.
Malvika Subba was the choreographer of the beauty pageant and was called by the police as a witness.
The police on May 21, arrested the accused, Manoj Pandey, owner of Model Global Visas Consultancy on charges he raped a minor in 2016.
SP Dinesh Raj Mainali says that Nepal Police will speak to various others including those whose names have been mentioned in the video posted by the woman.
Police sources say that Subba told police that the young lady had told her she was harassed but she did not ask for details from the lady.
Police say that Subba’s statement will help them during the investigation.
Nepal Police says that it has also called on the winner and the second runner-up of the beauty pageant the lady was a part of.
