Kathmandu, January 8
The Prachanda-led government on Sunday decided to forward a process for feasibility study on construction of a metro rail in the Kathmandu Valley. Investment Board has constituted a high-level mechanism for the same.
Sunday’s IB meeting held under Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ formed the mechanism under Sanjaya Kumar Khanal, chief of the Physical Infrastructure Division at National Planning Commission.
In 2012, a South Korean company had conducted a feasibility study for the same project, which has not witnessed any major progress since then despite much talk.
