Kathmandu, May 15
The Federal Parliament Secretariat has cut short the list of invitees to a joint meeting of both houses of the legislative, in which President Bidya Devi Bhandari will present the government’s annual policy and programme for the next fiscal year.
The meeting has been scheduled for 4 pm today.
Whereas chiefs of diplomatic missions in Kathmandu or their representatives would be invited to the function in the past years, they have not been invited as the meeting hall does not have sufficient seats when the parliamentarians and other dignitaries are required to seat maintaining social distance, according to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota’s press advisor Shreedhar Neupane.
Likewise, the members of constitutional bodies have not been invited although their chairpersons have been.
The secretariat requires that everyone attending the meeting should have tested negative for the coronavirus.
