It has been 62 days since Sher Bahadur Deuba was sworn in as the prime minister. On the same day, he inducted four ministers into his cabinet.
While Deuba is struggling to give a full shape to the cabinet even today, the prime minister and the four ministers have not made their property details public.
The CIAA Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act have it that public office bearers should make public their property details within 60 days from assuming the office and within 60 days from the completion of every fiscal year. Accordingly, the government has also made a decision on July 4, 2018, that the PM and the ministers submit the property details to the Office of the Prime Minister and send them to the National Vigilance Centre in 60 days. Likewise, they should be made public in the Nepal Gazette.
However, the PM and the ministers are flouting it.
Deuba has also appointed Umesh Shrestha as the state minister for health and population on August 25. He has also not made the property detail public either. Nonetheless, he is yet to complete 60 days in office.
