Property details of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane have been made public.
A recent meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to publish the details of all ministers, including the Prime Minister. Consequently, the property details have been published on the website of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
According to the details, Lamichhane has Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand in Nepal Bank Limited and Rs 5 thousand in Global IME Bank. He owns 1 ropani 1 anna of land in Bhaktapur.
Apart from this land acquired from ancestral property, all other properties are in his wife’s name, Nikita Paudel.
There is a house built on 5 annas of land in Budhanilkantha-8 in Nikita’s name. The house was purchased for Rs 3 crore 75 lakh through funds made available from various businesses and bank loans. The property details also mention that Rs 2 crore 50 lakh was taken as a loan from the bank when buying the house, and Rs 1 crore 50 lakh is still due.
Lamichhane has also revealed that his wife, Nikita Paudel, owns 80 tolas of gold. It is mentioned that most of it was gifted by her parents, with some purchased.
Similarly, it is stated that there is 15 to 20 kg of silver, bought when it costs Rs 250 to Rs 300 per tola.
Other cash assets are also in the name of Nikita Paudel. Home Minister Lamichhane mentioned that his wife Nikita holds a 25 per cent share of 10 ropani 8 annas of land in the Gopikrishna Central Complex.
A Tata Nexon electric car is registered in Nikita’s name, purchased in 2022 from their private income and savings for Rs 42 lakh.
Nikita is the owner of Nari Television and Gopikrishna Kamaksh Media Company. According to the asset statement, the current value of Nari Television is Rs 3 crore, and the current value of Kamaksh Media is Rs 1 crore.
