Kathmandu, February 18
Prime Minister KP Oli has said that the government will form the much-talked-about political mechanism to address Madeheshi Morcha’s demand to review provincial boundaries.
The Prime Minister, who was talking to mediapersons in Singha Durbar on Thursday afternoon, said that a meeting of the Cabinet later in the day will decide who will be on the mechanism. Oli said the Cabinet meeting had been delayed by a few hours to wait for the Madheshi Morcha and the government to reach an agreement on the issue.
Prime Minister Oli had told Parliament recently that the mechanism would be formed before he embarks on his visit to Delhi on Friday. Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, who went to the Indian capital two weeks ago, had assured New Delhi that Prime Minister Oli would setup the mechanism before coming to India.
However, the government and the Morcha are yet to salvage an agreement on the ToR of the mechanism.
