The government has received more than Rs 150 million in financial support for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the earthquake that hit Jajarkot’s Ramidanda on the night of November 3.

According to government sources, Rs 152,829 million has been collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund until November 16.

In the aftermath of the earthquake, Jajarkot and Rukum West suffered significant property losses. A swift response ensued with the announcement of aid funds for rescue, relief, and rehabilitation for the affected populations.

Despite the urgency, the government mandated that all funds be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, aiming to implement relief efforts in a centralised manner.

The Prime Minister and Council of Ministers provided updates on the total amount collected up to November 16.
