Janakpur, April 16
Electricity supply has been disrupted for more than 24 hours in Dhanusha and parts of Mahottari and Sarlahi districts due to a fire at the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Dhalkebar substation.
The blaze, caused by a blown circuit on the Dhalkebar-Sindhuli transmission line early Wednesday, damaged several components at the substation. Repair work has been underway since yesterday, and electricity is expected to resume by 10 AM today, said substation chief Binod Lohani.
The outage has severely impacted daily life, with residents struggling to use fans, water pumps, and other electrical appliances during the hot weather.
