Kathmandu, March 23
Prime Minister Prachanda and opposition leader KP Oli have met at the Speaker’s chamber just as the government prepares to put a key constitution amendment bill to vote in Parliament.
The government wants to present the bill, which has been drafted to address the demands of the Madheshi Morcha, in Parliament at the earliest.
The UML has indicated it was ready to soften its stance on the issue. However, sources say UML is still not in the mood to allow the ‘anti-national’ bill to be discussed in Parliament.
