Kathmandu, April 28
UCPN-Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and director of the United Nations Political Department for the Asia-Pacific Region, Suvinaya Nandi, discussed a range of topics, including the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Inquiry Commission on Forced Disappearances, in Kathmandu, on Thursday.
The meeting took place at Prachanda’s residence in Lazimpat. Prachanda’s private secretariat said the two discussed the current situation of Nepal, the peace process, implementation of the constitution and post-quake reconstruction work. Nandi inquired about the kind of assistance that Nepal will require for the completion of the peace process.
On his part, Prachanda said the United Nations assistance may be required for completion of the remaining tasks of the peace process through the TRC and the commission on disappearances.
