Biratnagar, December 23
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari inaugurated the seventh National Games at Martyrs’ Stadium in Biratnagar on Friday.
In her address, President Bhandari thanked National Sports Council for being able to organise the Games at the stadium, which had suffered damage in the April 25, 2015 quake. She called on the government to pay attention to development of sports from the school level itself.
Daljit BK Sripaili, Minister for Youth and Sports, informed that the government will give away special awards to those sportspersons, who break national records. He said the government is working to develop sports infrastructure in the country.
