Kathmandu, February 16
While Prime Minister KP was addressing Parliament about his visit to India, scheduled for Friday, the area designated for the opposition had empty sears.
According to Nepali Congress leaders, members of Parliament belonging to the party could not attend the meeting because they were busy with preparations for the party’s upcoming general convention.
Nepali Congress, which lost its President Sushil Koirala recently had put off district conventions for a while to mourn Koirala’s demise.
Similarly, MPs from the party have also not been seen at the meetings of various parliamentary committees. Last week a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on the issue of NCell’s tax liabilities had to postponed due to lack of quorum.
