The Province 5 government is preparing to mark the next Bikram Samvat year, which will begin in mid-April, as the Visit Lumbini Year.
The government has targeted to welcome at least two million tourists in the year. The government has hoped that the announcement will help the federal government’s Visit Nepal 2020 programme.
Likewise, it will promote the under construction Gautam Buddha International Airport in the international market.
A recent meeting of the provincial Council of Ministers recently endorsed the plan.
The formal announcement of the programme will be made on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, in May.
