Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a new Hyatt Regency hotel in Lumbini, Nepal, marking its fourth property in the country. This development, under a management agreement with Veda Hospitality Private Limited of Golyan Group, highlights Hyatt’s commitment to expanding its presence in Southwest Asia.
According to a press statement released by Hyatt Hotels Corporation, set to open by 2028, Hyatt Regency Lumbini will feature 175 guest rooms and bring international standards of hospitality to the culturally rich town, recognised as the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located along the scenic Dano River, the hotel will be near Lumbini’s famed Mayadevi Temple and Gautam Buddha International Airport, offering convenient access for both domestic and international travellers.
“Our vision for Hyatt Regency Lumbini is to create a landmark destination that elevates Nepal’s hospitality industry while celebrating Lumbini’s heritage,” said Akshay Golyan, managing director of Golyan Group. Dhruva Rathore, Hyatt’s vice president of development, noted, “This collaboration reflects Hyatt’s commitment to thoughtful brand expansion in meaningful destinations.”
Hyatt Regency Lumbini aims to blend modern design with traditional Nepali warmth, featuring amenities such as a wellness spa, outdoor pool, and meeting spaces to foster community and connection.
