The government has declared public holidays for coming Sunday and Monday to let the public vote in the parliamentary elections to be held on Sunday.
A notice issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs says all government and public offices will be closed on Sunday and Monday to facilitate the federal and provincial elections.
In addition, schools and colleges that will be used as voting centres will be closed on Friday also to prepare for the voting, according to the notice.
Tribhuvan University, the biggest academic institution in Nepal, has already decided to close its institutions from Thursday to Sunday for the elections.
