Kathmandu, November 29
The statement of Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former Home Minister, has concluded for today. His testimony lasted approximately six and a half hours.
The statement, conducted at the District Public Prosecutor’s Office, began at 9 am and concluded at 3:30 pm.
Lamichhane was brought to Kathmandu on Thursday evening for questioning related to the alleged misappropriation of funds at Swarnalakshmi Cooperative. Previously held at the Kaski District Police Office, he was also taken to Bhairahawa for additional questioning. Lamichhane, who was arrested on October 18, has had his detention extended five times for an ongoing investigation.
Supporters and leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party gathered at the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Maitighar last evening and again this morning in response to Lamichhane being brought to Kathmandu for the statement.
