Biratnagar, October 4
Controversial religious leader Acharya Shriniwas has been arrested on Tuesday.
The police arrested him from Chakraghatti in Sunsari on Tuesday after the video of his controversial statement went viral on social media.
DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari of the District Police Office, Sunsari, said that Acharya Shriniwas was taken into custody. Shriniwas was arrested in 2018 after he staged an attack on himself to incite conflict in the region.
According to police sources, he delivered a speech that incited religious and social discord during a program in Dhanusha a week ago. Following a filed complaint, he was subsequently arrested.
Additionally, he posted a provocative comment about the conflict in Nepalgunj on his Facebook page.
